Mel Bosworth: When the Cats Razzed the Chickens

A short while ago, I ordered Mel Bosworth's recently released chapbook "When the Cats Razzed the Chickens & Other Stories". Since receiving my copy in the mail, I have read it from cover to cover several times. It is a thoroughly enjoyable read. Of the twelve stories included in the chap, three deserve special mention: "Xyrophobic Me", "The Stumbling Conquistador", and "Leave Me as I Lessen". These are excellent pieces that do an amazing job of combining tantalizingly odd material with clear and interesting thematic treatment. "Xyrophobic Me" in particular is one of the best pieces of writing I have come across in a long time. The chapbook is available from Folded Word Press here. Check it out!
